The removal of a perk for junior bankers at Barclays is hurting morale even as the bank rolls out some new policies aimed at easing their workload and avoid burnout.

For the second year, the UK bank has scrapped bonuses typically paid to analysts who moved up a rung to associate, according to people familiar with the matter. Investment banks typically pay between £22,000 to £30,000 as a sign-on bonus to those moving from analyst to associate, according recruiters Dartmouth Partners.
