Amanda Staveley’s private equity firm must prove it could have earned substantially more from its role in Barclays' 2008 emergency cash call, the bank’s lawyers have argued.

On day two of the £1.5bn High Court case, Jeffery Onions QC raised a series of questions about PCP Capital Partners’ role in Barclays’ fundraisings in 2008 and told the court that the private equity firm must “prove what would have happened at each stage”.
