Barclays names former finance minister François Baroin as chair of France

Barclays has named another senior executive for its expanding European investment bank, promoting former politician François Baroin to chairman of its operations in France.

Baroin, who was previously finance minister and minister of the economy in France in a political career spanning from 2005 to 2012, has taken on a full-time role at the UK lender, it said in a statement.
