Barclays plc has appointed Paul Hartwell as its new head of group risk analysis and policy.

Hartwell, who will join the Barclays group on June 1, will be responsible for maintaining the risk governance structure and risk management framework across the entire banking group, including Barclays Capital. He will replace James Culmer in the role.
