Jane Platt, who retired as chief executive of Barclays Stockbrokers in June, has re-emerged at Reuters to head a new asset management unit created by Tom Glocer, Reuters' new chief executive.

Reuters has also promoted Devin Wenig, appointed president of Reuters Information in January, and responsible for Reuters' decision to buy Bridge, to head one of the four newly-created segments.
