The hire is the latest in a string of senior appointments at the UK lender

Barclays has poached a senior banker at BNP Paribas in Paris to lead its French M&A business as the UK lender continues to hire dealmakers from rivals.

The bank has named Gauthier Le Milon as head of mergers and acquisitions for France, Belgium and Luxembourg, according to a statement on 14 October. He has spent around 13 years at BNP Paribas in senior roles across equity capital markets and M&A.
