Barclays reviews foreign exchange trading

UK bank reveals it is probing years of FX trading after regulators' request

Barclays on Wednesday said it has been drawn into a global probe into potential manipulation of currency rates as a slowdown in its fixed income business pushed third-quarter profit sharply lower.

The bank said it is reviewing several years of its foreign-exchange trading after recent requests from regulators and enforcement authorities, adding to a growing list of banks that have said they are involved in the investigation.
