Barclays Stockbrokers, which is set to be integrated into a new wealth management structure at Barclays, has appointed Peter Hall as chief executive to replace Jane Platt who is due to leave next month.
Platt leaves Barclays, the UK's third biggest bank, after 14 years. She has been chief operating officer of Barclays Stockbrokers since 1997, and was instrumental to transforming the business to a market leader, bringing in a record year of profits in 2000. "Now is the time to move on, running a business which is in a strong and steady state is less exciting," she said.
