Barclays US chief to leave

Skip McGee to be replaced by Joe Gold in latest shake-up at bank

Barclays said Tuesday that Skip McGee, chief executive of its US unit, will leave the bank at the end of April and be replaced by Joe Gold, marking the latest shake-up at the lender as it shrinks its investment bank and pulls back in some geographies.

The bank said McGee is leaving the bank as of April 30 because of a switch in focus in the CEO role as Barclays deals with new US regulations. Barclays' US business is expected to shrink amid those rules, and as part of a planned revamp of the group's investment bank, much of which is based in the US.
