Barclays Wealth, which plans to double headcount in its wealth management business over the next five years, has made its latest senior hire from a rival, appointing an executive to be head of its Swiss business from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Patrick Ramsey joins the UK wealth manager as managing director and head of Barclays Wealth Switzerland, after eight years at Merrill Lynch. He was most recently chief executive and general manager for Switzerland at the US bank.
