Barclays has won a two-year reprieve in a court battle being brought by private equity firm PCP Capital Partners regarding a £3bn fundraising from Qatar.

PCP claims Barclays misled it regarding an emergency cash call the bank made in 2008 at the height of the financial crisis to access funds from Gulf investors. The cash call was being made to prevent the bank falling under the control of the UK government.
