Baring Asset Management has established a fund investing in worldwide equities from five industry sectors to capture some of the growth of technology stocks without the volatility.

Baring has not offered sector funds until now, although according to investment consultant Hymans Robertson it was one of the first UK fund managers to use global sector research. This sector approach was limited to discussions between regionally-based research analysts. Managing funds along sector lines is considered more demanding.
