Bear Stearns has hired Charles Atkinson as a managing director in its hedge fund services. Atkinson joined from French brokerage Exane BNP Paribas, where he was head of sales and sales trading. He has held similar positions at ABN Amro and UBS.

Atkinson will focus particularly on global equities and will offer products to hedge funds which are both prime brokerage and stockbroking clients.
