Bear Stearns backs European hedge fund seeding vehicle

Investment bank Bear Stearns has agreed to back a European hedge fund seeding vehicle put together by asset management firm Liberty Ermitage.

The vehicle, called the Strategic Partners Fund, is already listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. It will start off managing capital worth $110m (€102m) and current commitments indicate that the total will rise to $200m by July. Liberty aims to close the vehicle to new business when funds under management total $500m.
