Bear Stearns has hired Scott Margolis as a senior trader in its US convertible securities department as it strives to build its structured equity products team despite weakened equity markets.

Margolis has joined the bank from Credit Suisse First Boston. Previously he worked at UBS and Lehman Brothers in equity derivatives convertibles.
