Beleaguered Neuer Markt stock finds broker

Gigabell, the embattled Neuer Markt internet company, which last week filed for protection from creditors, received a boost today when Lang & Schwarz, a German broking firm, agreed to act as broker to the company.

The firm had risked becoming the first Neuer Markt stock to be delisted after DG Bank resigned as broker this week, and because of the risk of the company going insolvent. Under Neuer Markt regulations, every firm must have at least two registered brokers to guarantee the liquidity of the stock. They perform the same role as nominated advisers on AIM in London or corporate brokers on the London main market.
