Belgian data company acquires Zephus Corporate Finance

Zephus Corporate Finance Knowledge, the mergers and acquisitions, private equity and initial public offering data provider, has been acquired by Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing of Belgium for an undisclosed price.

Zephus was launched in September 2000 by Newsco-Insider, a subsidiary of Regional Independent Media (RIM), and has a website, zephus.com, which will continue to operate. Initially, Zephus offered free access to data on M&A, private equity and IPO transactions, but last year it began to charge for downloads for offline use. The data provider was sold after RIM was acquired by Johnston Press of the UK earlier this year.
