Morgan Stanley’s top restructuring banker in London quits

The Morgan Stanley executive hired shortly before the financial crisis to establish a division to advise struggling companies is leaving.

Ben Babcock, a former Merrill Lynch and Lazard dealmaker who has headed Morgan Stanley's restructuring division in Europe, the Middle East and Africa since the US bank established it in September 2008, announced his retirement last week, according to sources with knowledge of the move.
