Berenberg’s managing partner: UK investment banking sector faces ‘structural’ challenges

The UK investment banking market is facing “structural” issues and is only halfway through a period of rapid change after a year of consolidation as capital markets activity has slumped, according to the managing partner of German bank Berenberg.

David Mortlock, Berenberg’s managing partner who also heads its investment bank, said that the UK investment banking sector will continue to shift after a period of consolidation among brokers over the past two years.
