Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholder meeting Saturday will be the main focus of investors but the company also will be reporting its first-quarter results on 6 May at around 8 am ET.

Berkshire's results are expected to be strong with operating profits rising 12.5% to $5,371 per class A share, reflecting the benefit of the company's nearly $12bn acquisition of property and casualty insurer Alleghany in late 2022 and higher interest income on the company's cash holdings of about $129bn.
