Bookmakers are putting former chancellor Rishi Sunak out in front as the Conservative Party prepares to elect its next leader and prime minister when Liz Truss departs.

Truss resigned earlier on 20 October, saying that electing a new leader within a week would "maintain our country's economic stability".
