Interdealer broker BGC Partners has taken the next step towards an initial public offering of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, its real estate services business.

The New York-based firm said it had confidentially submitted a draft registration statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission in relation to the proposed IPO, which is part of its plans to move its real estate services business into a separate public company, according to a February 9 statement.
