Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has expanded its active equity team in the US with the appointment of Robert Slotpole as chief investment officer of US equities, and Ronald Kahn as global head of equity research.

Slotpole joins from Amvescap in Boston, where he was responsible for the quantitative equity and fundamental growth investment disciplines. At BGI, he will report to Blake Grossman, the firm's global co-chief executive officer.
