BGI hires Semaya as new coo in Japan

Barclays Global Investors, the asset manager with over $1trillion (€840bn) in assets, has appointed David Semaya to the new position of chief operating officer in Japan, indicating the growing interest in the region being shown by international investment groups.

Semaya was previously with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in Japan, where he was the senior executive responsible for all of Merrill Lynch's asset management activities in the region.
