Bids roll in for Shell's asset sale

Royal Dutch Shell, the Anglo-Dutch oil group, yesterday received the first-round bids for its €5bn ($6.15bn) Basell plastics joint venture.

Credit Suisse First Boston and Lazard were retained by Basell's owners, BASF and Shell, last month to sell or float the company. They are looking at an undisclosed number of bids, a source close to the deal said.
