As EY continues to discuss a landmark separation of its audit and consulting businesses, the issue of pay has shot to the top of the agenda again at the Big Four.

In a bid to ease through partner votes on breaking up the firm, EY has tried to reassure its top brass that windfalls will be spread evenly after an initial public offering of its consulting business, TheWall Street Journalreported.
