Institutional investor opposition to hedge funds is crumbling according to State Street's third annual study into the sector, although pension schemes and endowments remain concerned on fee levels in the industry.

The proportion of investors without any hedge fund exposure at all dropped from 16% during 2005 to just 4% last year.
