‘Big three’ investment consultants argue against break-up

The three big investment consultancies that dominate the market for advising UK pension funds are fighting back hard against proposals from competition authorities to break up their businesses.

The three firms, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson and Aon Hewitt, who collectively advise on £1.6tn of investments in the UK, are the main proponents of a sector that was referred to the Competition and Markets Authority in September.
