Bill Gross, the founder of bond giant Pimco, has sparked controversy over his first market commentary of the year.

In his inaugural investment outlook of 2018, the renowned fund manager launched into a defence of men in which he likened the strength of the bond market to changing attitudes about how to address improper conduct towards women.
