Capacity crunch looms as pensions, small firms face clearing hurdle — here’s the impact on markets

Access to clearing could be widened to pensions, boutique firms and brokerages as regulators suggest giving the largest trading and investment firms permission to directly settle their trades with clearing houses.

In a report that calls for reforms to the market, the Bank for International Settlements and the International Organisation of Securities Commissions said new models for accessing clearing are possible.
