BJM mandate in De Beers buy-out puts deal under strain

Several shareholders affected by the proposed delisting of De Beers by Anglo American and the Oppenheimer family have questioned the involvement of Bernard Jacobs Mellet (BJM).

BJM, South African's largest independent broking house, has won a mandate to provide corporate finance advice to several significant institutional investors in De Beers, the South Africa-based diamond mining business. BJM also owns a separate boutique corporate finance entity.
