BlackRock and Vanguard are among a small cohort of heavyweight international shareholders that have increased their dominance over the UK’s largest companies since 2015, with predictions the Covid crisis and Brexit will do little to dampen appetite for further investment.
Data provided exclusively to Financial News by FactSet, shows that ownership of the FTSE 100 among institutional investors accounts for around 60%, with a significant portion of the index owned by non-UK shareholders.
