BlackRock fund of funds chief reignites size debate

The co-head of BlackRock’s $16bn (€21bn) fund of funds division has annoyed smaller managers in the sector by reigniting the size debate and claiming that a strong institutional business should hold at least $5bn.

Speaking in an interview with Mark James, of Royal Bank of Scotland's funds team, Chuck Clarvit pointed to the cost of due diligence and said larger and stronger organisations are better place to deal with market stress.
