BlackRock taps Bank of England for global stewardship hire

Central bank heavyweight will take over from Barbara Novick, who had already announced her intentions to step down from her day-to-day role

BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has hired a Bank of England heavyweight to lead its global stewardship team, taking over from Barbara Novick who announced in February that she would scale-down her day-to-day duties.

Sandy Boss has spent the past six years at the UK central bank serving as a member of the prudential risk committee. She has also been chair of the risk committee board, which oversees the system used to make high-value payments and implement monetary policy.
