BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has been targeted by what appears to be a group of environmental campaigners, who penned a fake “Dear CEO” letter purporting to be from chief executive Larry Fink.

The letter, which attempts to subvert Fink’s annual missives to the companies BlackRock invests in, was sent to media publications, including Financial News, ahead of BlackRock’s fourth-quarter earnings on January 16.
