BlackRock’s client demand boosts transition investment amid ESG backlash

A spike in client demand has pushed BlackRock to hone in on investments that support the transition to a low-carbon economy.

In its mid-year outlook, the $9.1tn asset manager said it was banking on the transition to a low-carbon economy as one of the “mega forces” reshaping portfolios and economies, alongside artificial intelligence and the “rewiring of globalisation”.
