Blackstar Capital, a non-bank lender to corporates, has appointed Simon Smart as its new head of credit and special situations.

Smart was formerly an executive director at Swiss lender UBS and US bank Goldman Sachs, both in London. He joined Blackstar as a senior adviser in September 2019 after spending seven years as head of reinsurance principal investments at BTG Pactual.
