Blackstone collects $5bn for first longer-life fund

Blackstone Group, the world’s largest private equity manager, has collected $5 billion for its first longer-life fund, FN's sister publication Private Equity News reports.

The fund has hit its target and is unlikely to raise any more capital, though it has not technically held a final close, according to a person familiar with the matter. The vehicle has a 20-year life span – compared to a traditional fund life of 10 years.
