The Blackstone Group, the US private equity firm, has appointed Chip Schorr, formerly a managing partner of Citigroup Venture Capital Equity Partners, as a senior managing director focusing on technology.

Schorr joins the firm's 15 other private equity managing directors and will oversee all technology-related investments. He will be based in New York.
