Blackstone slashes price of Celanese IPO

The Blackstone Group, a US private equity house, has been forced into cutting the float price of Celanese by 25%. It bought the German chemicals company less than a year ago.

Celanese had wanted to sell 50 million shares at between $19 and $21, to raise $1.05bn (€809m) at the top of the range. All teh share were sold, but at $16, raising $800m.
