Blackstone targets insurers in bid to expand client base

Private equity firm Blackstone Group has hired a New York Life Insurance executive as it eyes at least $100bn of insurers' money, write Sarah Krouse and Nicole Friedman for The Wall Street Journal.

Blackstone has brought in Chris Blunt, former president of New York Life's investing unit, as head of a division that will target large insurers as part of a push to expand its customer base.
