As the IPO market stutters into life, the equity market has been dominated by block trades in 2012, accounting for over half of all equity deals in the year to date, the highest on record.

Block trades have accounted for 56% of all equity capital market deals in the year to date, the highest on record, according to data from Dealogic. Volume currently stands at $76.9bn via 306 deals, compared to $70.5bn via 339 deals in 2011, over the same time period.
