BNP Paribas appoints first global debt head

The French bank has created a new role to help propel it towards an 'originate-to-distribute' model and encourage greater focus on capital markets

BNP Paribas has appointed its head of debt capital markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to take on the newly-created role of global head, as it seeks to move the businesses towards an "originate-to-distribute" model.

Christopher Marks will report to Martin Egan, UK head of fixed income and global head of origination and primary markets, and remain in London.
