BNP Paribas has hired Uwe Fuehrer, a former Crédit Agricole Indosuez (CAI) banker, to its UK institutional foreign exchange sales team headed by Richard Knight, another ex-CAI banker.

Fuehrer joins BNP Paribas in London after a two-year sabbatical. Before that, he was global FX sales co-ordinator and head of short-term product sales between 1997 and 2000 at CAI. Fuehrer joined CAI from Merrill Lynch, where he was head of institutional FX sales, and he has also worked at National Westminster Bank.
