Chantal Mazzacurati, global head of equities at BNP Paribas, is taking on a new role in corporate and investment banking following the transfer of the French bank's cash equities business into a joint venture with Exane, the independent French brokerage.

Mazzacurati becomes a senior executive vice-president reporting to Philippe Blavier, head of corporate and investment banking, from June 1. She will be responsible for specific projects to help develop the business, such as building BNP Paribas' relationships with hedge funds.
