BNP Paribas has departed from recent form in promoting from within to build up its credit derivatives business.

Farid Amellal, who has been with the French bank in Tokyo for six years, will relocate to London and take up the position of global head of credit derivatives. He will report to David Ovenden, global head of credit fixed income.
