BNP Paribas hires Calyon banker for US funds push

BNP Paribas Asset Management has hired a second senior equities banker from Calyon, the French banking group. Pierre Lapomme, who was manager of Calyon's equity capital market division, will spearhead BNP Paribas' push into the US fund management business.

In December last year, BNP Paribas recruited Alain Papiasse, Calyon's former chief operating officer, to oversee the group's asset management business as a member of the bank's executive board.
