BNP Paribas has hired Mark Field from CGNU, the UK insurance group, as a tax specialist to work on complex derivatives deals involving insurance companies.

Field will be charged with making sure that risk management deals for insurance companies, often involving highly tailored derivatives, are tax efficient for the derivatives user as well as an effective financial hedge.
