BNY Mellon names former JPMorgan banker as CEO

Charles Scharf is returning to Wall Street to head BNY Mellon, a move that puts him charge of a firm that safeguards trillions of dollars for large institutions, writes Justin Baer for The Wall Street Journal.

Scharf replaced Gerald Hassell as chief executive yesterday. Hassell will remain chairman at BNY Mellon until the end of the year when Scharf will also take on that role.
