BoE gives finance firms 2021 deadline to implement climate-change plans

The Bank of England clarified its expectations on timing in a letter sent by the deputy governor

The UK’s central bank has given financial services firms until the end of 2021 to implement their plans to mitigate the impact of climate change on their business.

In a letter sent on 1 July, Sam Woods, deputy governor of the Bank of England, told banking and insurance sector leaders they have 18 months to fully embed their strategies.
